I Don't Noah

I finally did the sensible thing and set up a blog for Noah. Now we can all enjoy Noah's pictures as soon as he has scanned them! He has already posted a lot of really good stuff.

YouTube Debates - No Child Left Behind

This is a cool clip from the Democratic Presidential Debates on YouTube.

Scrap the NCLB act. Take care of the teachers.

Love you Geena.

Punched Before Eating

Mid-Terms are almost over... This isn't as good as Dick in a Box, or Lazy Sunday, but it's worth watching.

Bang Camaro on MTV Movie Awards

I knew I recognized that song! I went to their website to verify. These local guys have really made it big.

From their website:
"So, for anyone who didn't know, our song "Push Push (Lady Lightning)" was used in the "Best Kiss" segment of this year's MTV Movie Awards. When you think of dudes making out, you think of Bang Camaro. "

It was during a pretty hilarious segment with Will Ferrell and Sasha Cohen making out.

Congratulations! Who knew that glam rock was going to make a comeback?

Musics

I'm always telling people to join emusic because it is a great deal and you will discover lesser known artists that are really good.

I just downloaded Robbers & Cowards by Cold War Kids and they have a really cool sound. Click on this link to their album on emusic. Sign up and we will both get 50 free downloads.

You may have heard their single Hang me up to Dry on the radio. Here is an MP3 of Hospital Beds. Check it out! I am a sucker for rock music with piano i guess.

Here is a little list of other excellent bands that I've purchased music from on emusic:
  • Badly Drawn Boy
  • Creedence Clearwater Revival
  • Elliot Smith
  • Guster
  • Interpol
  • Moby
  • Modest Mouse
  • Moe.
  • Slightly Stoopid
  • Spoon
  • The Black Keys
  • The Decemberists
  • The White Stripes

I want to go to

Download Festival 2007 with Modest Mouse, Guster, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Neko Case, Wolf Parade, Band of Horses and more! The show takes place at the tweeter center in Mansfield, MA.

Who's comin' with me? Tickets are on presale at http://www.livenation.com/event/getEvent/eventId/262385?c=dm-59211&p=17108193

EarthFest

A perfect day for Earthfest! Guster said it was the biggest crowd they've ever played for. This picture is during the K D Tunstall set. She was pretty decent. Guster played a bunch of new songs I didn't recognize. Overall it was a good time.

Ride for Fritz next weekend!

Check it out. Geena and I are going to support our friend Fritz. He is struggling with cancer and needs our help. Donate money at the website if you can.

Thanks.

New Look

I didn't just update the colors, I upgraded to blogger's new template, and I've added lots of cool sidebar items. Some of them are from Google and some are from blogtricks.com and others.

There's lots of good "Dan's shared news clips" over there on the right. Only 5 are showing on the page, but you can click the Read More... link.

Update

Jeez, it's been a while.

I finally got my chance to see my favorite band Spoon play live at the Pearl Street Nightclub in Northampton, MA. It was great, as expected. They played 2 new songs that sounded intriguing, lots from Gimme Fiction, and some good older material (like Jonathan Fisk.)

I can't wait for the new album, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, to release on 7/10/07

I also wanted to post a link to the stories I've Dugg over the past few months on Digg.com
http://digg.com/users/fitech/news/dugg
There's some interesting stuff there. Let me know if you use Digg and we can be "friends."

Would you like to see my favorite YouTube videos?

I still can't get over this one...

I'm sure you've all heard about Viacom suing Google.
I hope it all works out for the GoogTube.

Teaching in Hungary

Hey, look at my friend Arlo. He is teaching English in Hungary.
It looks like they have great sausages there.

You can read all about it at his blog, the Hungary Hungry Hippocrite.

Create your own Ringtones

This works great for my Samsung SCH-A950 phone, but I think it would work for lots of others as well. You can take any mp3 file, and turn it into a ringtone.

You just need the following programs installed...
-iTunes (you should have that anyway) download
-Qualcomm PureVoice 3.1 for Windows download

Itunes>Settings>Advanced>importing>
Change the setting to wav 8-bit, Mono.
Then you can use itunes to convert the mp3 to an 8-bit, Mono, wav file by right clicking it.

The Qualcomm software is a little harder to use. Follow their instructions to convert the wav file to a QCP file. This QCP file is a valid ringtone format for many phones. Just move it to the phone somehow (I use my TransFlash memory card) and select it as your ringtone for one contact or for all.

Don't pay for ringtones when you can make them yourself. Comment if you have any questions.

New Pictures from Noah

Check them out at www.DontNoah.com/newest.html

I am very impressed with these latest three pieces and I am excited to share them with you all.

Learning Guitar

Thanks for the Guitar Geena!

My fingers are numb but thats OK. I'm learning some chords.

Lately I've been rocking out to some Elliott Smith. I'm getting a whole new appreciation for accoustic guitar music.

Elliott Smith - Needle in the Hay

But one day I would like to jam out on the electric guitar.

The Black Keys - Thickfreakness

Enjoy.
